Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

· Minimum of two years related experience working with community volunteers or with clients providing customer service.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent written and communication skills needed.

· Experience in recruitment, retention and training is helpful.

· Proficient in Microsoft programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

· Moderate physical effort.

Responsibilities:

1. Recruits individuals and/or groups to provide volunteer services by attending recruitment fairs, preparing informational mailings, speaking to interested groups, developing campaigns, and maintaining various social media posts.

2. Ensures volunteer compliance with annual influenza vaccination requirements.

3. Appropriately screens and selects volunteers to ensure candidates meet program requirements when conducting new volunteer orientation and onboarding.

4. Maintains personnel files/records for all volunteers, coordinating background checks, drug-screens, TB tests and all other required documentation.

5. Responsible for evaluating and filling department requests for volunteers, position training, placement, coaching and resolving volunteer issues.

6. Coordinates volunteer appreciation and retention activities/events designed to support and engage the volunteer base including anniversary recognition, annual Volunteer Satisfaction Survey and newsletters.

7. Provides guidance and administrative support to officers and committees for all Jacksonville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary projects including Gift Shop activities of purchasing, inventory management, staffing, financial reporting and Facebook posts.

8. Collaborates with Marketing and Communications staff to develop messages, design print materials, sustain a social media presence and release news to media outlets.

9. Assists with Foundation special projects, events and ongoing operations.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

Coordinates recruitment, orientation and retention of volunteers, including administering volunteer satisfaction survey, organizing annual volunteer appreciation activities, and training. Recruits volunteers through promotional/educational activities and events, raising awareness of the opportunities to volunteer within Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. Provides administrative support for the Jacksonville Auxiliary and assists with JMH Foundation operations.
