Required Qualifications: The individual employed for this position must possess and maintain the following qualifications or willingness to obtain:
Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license.
Must possess, maintain, and utilize:
• Universal Refrigerant Type 1 and 2 transition recovery certificate
• Pesticide Public Operator License
• Asbestos Worker License
• Pesticide Public Applicator License with right of way category
• Successfully complete District 117 computer class on Microsoft Windows
• Successfully complete two classes at Lincoln Land Community College and other Illinois Community Colleges adjacent to Jacksonville School District 117 from the following:
• ARH 101 Basic Refrigeration
• BDM 106 Basic Carpentry 1
• BDM Basic Masonry
• BDM 114 Basic Plumbing
• ELM 103 Principles of Electricity
• HRT 103 Turf Management
• WEL 101 Basic Metal Arc and Oxyacetylene Welding
• Demonstrated professionalism.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
The job responsibilities for this position of Maintenance Grade 1 for Jacksonville School District #117 are listed below.
- Dress appropriately for work which is assigned.
- Communicate and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, staff, students, the public, and co-workers.
- Maintain district equipment.
- Perform seasonal duties.
- Perform work in a safe manner.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, equipment repair, flooring, masonry, welding, painting, paving, asbestos, pest management, weed control, and other functions as needed.
- Willingness to participate in training and development programs provided by the District.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
12 month position; 8 hours per day; 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – 30 minute unpaid lunch
Terms of Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement
