SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering and Technology— Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. An individual with a passion for thermal sciences, heat transfer, and fluid flow will excel at this position. Ideally would be very familiar with the thermodynamic cycle of a vapor compression system, with typical fluorocarbons or carbon dioxide as the working refrigerant.
- Computers – Experience with 2D & 3D CAD. Above average knowledge using Microsoft Office products.
- Design—Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Mathematical—The education and understanding of which mathematics to use and the ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 3-5 years of engineering experience preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
- Create 3D models & 2D drawings with Autodesk Inventor
- Utilize CFD software to either revise existing designs or to brainstorm new concepts that could be offered as a next generation line of products
- Support the Sales Team by creating variations of current products to meet customer requirements.
- Perform product testing in the onsite Engineering Lab. Various refrigeration systems are available to expose the design under test to varying thermal loads and flow rates
- Conduct thermal load calculations for sizing of refrigerant to fluid shell and tube heat exchangers.
- Become familiarized with Robotic Handling and Robotic Welding Systems
- Regular exposure to the ASME Pressure Vessel Code
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

We are looking for a mechanical engineer to add to our team. This role will include manufacturing support, utilizing product sizing software to select the ideal product for customer requirements, and supporting the Sales Team by modeling customer specific designs in 3D CAD with a 2D detailed drawing. Longer term activities include product design for manufacturing, design revisions to accommodate new refrigerants entering the industry, and new design concepts to remain competitive.
