Qualifications:
  • BS Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or other Engineering Field.
  • Firm understanding of manufacturing production and distribution processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to Nestlé USA guidelines for project management and deployment as defined in ST907 – Corporate Engineering Standards 
  • Develop scope, budget and timing for each project; review the needs of the projects with the users; fine-tune project budget based on preliminary engineering work. 
  • Generate a Design Freeze document for each project and obtain stakeholder approval; this document and process enables detailed engineering to proceed and funding commitments to be made. 
  • Create a detailed engineering and project management plan for assigned projects; develop detailed equipment and systems specifications and drawings. 
  • Search and qualify potential vendors for equipment and installation; select from potential vendors utilizing competitive bidding processes. 
  • Create general purchase orders, requisitions and contracts for all project commitments; manage vendor relationships. 
  • Create general project schedule and project Gantt charts, coordinate installation activities with Plant Production and Maintenance. 
  • Manage project installations to ensure internal and external resources remain on schedule, the work is being performed per site safety procedures, and the requirements of the purchase orders and contracts are being met. 
  • Work on and improve maintenance-related projects/systems. Actively participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) activities. 
  • Work cross functionally with Plant Production, Maintenance and the OSL to coordinate project training, startup, operation, completion, and close out. 
  • Participate in company environmental continuous improvement initiatives by seeking out and employing increased resource efficiency opportunities; promote and participate in waste conservation/management efforts (pollution prevention and recycling).  
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Other Information:

Project Engineer manages the development and implementation of capital investment projects, ensuring that these projects are delivered on time, safely, and within scope and budget. Projects include new equipment investments or modification of existing equipment or assets. This position also provides the project management support to maintain and improve the equipment, building and grounds.

Project Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager. 

 

Project Engineer does not have direct reports but is responsible for ensuring labor complies with Nestle policies.

 

Direct impact on facility financial performance in terms of helping to reduce costs with the implementation of new projects and projects to improve existing operations.
