Qualifications:

The search committee seeks candidates who are capable and comfortable providing strong organizational, operational and faith leadership.

  • The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
  • Applicants should have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Community relations experience is encouraged.
  • It is preferred that the candidate have teaching experience and a master’s degree in administration with a Type 75 license or be willing to work towards it.
Responsibilities:
  1. The principal, as the administrative head of the school, will seek to coordinate and implement the educational program consistent with Diocesan policies and guidelines.
  2. Implements student policies and coordinates with the Board of Education in regard to attendance, discipline and achievement.
  3. Implements personnel policies and coordinates with the Board of Education in regard to performance, curriculum, and Catechesis.
  4. A major priority for the principal should be building of the Catholic community of faith and creating an atmosphere in which this faith can be developed.
  5. Interviews students, parents, and staff to take necessary action in cases of truancy, delinquency, course failure, and/or discipline concerns.
  6. Coordinates and supervises academic and co-curricular programs.
Other Information:

Routt Catholic High School is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of principal. The primary responsibility of the principal is to promote the spiritual and educational development of faculty, staff, and students. As a religious leader, the principal announces, witnesses, and shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ as expressed in the Catholic Church.  As an educational leader, the principal directs and coordinates planning, implementation, and evaluation of the total educational program. Additionally, the principal provides vision and leadership to the school’s advancement and community relations initiatives. The principal conducts committee meetings with the Board of Directors to provide for the overall functioning and operation of the school.
