Qualifications:

The specific requirements for the position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program
  • Licensed Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer in Illinois
  • Bridge Design experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Subordinate training experience
  • Full-time employment (non-remote position)
  • Microstation or AutoCad experience
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License
Responsibilities:

HEI is seeking licensed structural engineers to serve as either a Structural Project Engineer or Structural Project Manger in the Structural Department in our Jacksonville, IL office. This position will be responsible for engineering aspects on structure replacements and rehabilitations including: coordinating surveying, roadway alignments and profiles, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, environmental submittals, preliminary bridge designs, plan development, specifications, and project estimates. 

This position will also be responsible for managing project timelines and budgets while directing subordinate staff on design aspects. The ideal candidate should have knowledge in geometric highway design, hydraulics and hydrology, structure sizing and type selection, structural design, specifications, estimating, and federal and State of Illinois requirements for environmental review and project development.
