Qualifications:

The specific requirements for the position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program
  • PE License in Illinois
  • Full-time employment (non-remote position)
  • Microstation/GeoPak/Open Roads Design experience (Preferred)
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience (Preferred)
  • Understanding of Illinois Department of Transportation design polices developed through experience working on DOT, municipal and county projects
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License
Responsibilities:

As a transportation design project manager or engineer in our Jacksonville, IL office, you will be working on projects ranging from complex DOT projects to smaller locally funded municipal and county projects. 

Specific tasks will include:

  • Preparing scope, schedule, and budget for engineering agreements (Based on Experience level)
  • Preparing preliminary engineering reports
  • Utility coordination including conflict resolution
  • Environmental coordination with state agencies
  • Pavement Design
  • Intersection Design Studies
  • Roadway Geometric Design
  • Drainage design including open and closed storm water systems
  • Handicap Accessibility Design
  • Preparing plans, specifications for contract bid documents
  • Preparing construction cost estimates
  • Client coordination including written and verbal communication
  • Managing project teams of varying sizes (Based on Experience level)
  • Training less experienced staff
