Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience with the provision of direct service to vulnerable populations. • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation. • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, and strong internet navigation skills. • Ability to build relationships with clients and community partners. • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written messages. • Maintaining confidentiality of information related to LLGI operations, financial matters and personnel matters. • Ability to interact with people in a manner that enhances their dignity, privacy and confidentiality. • Ability to be consistently at work and on time on scheduled work days. • Ability to work independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere. • Ability to complete tasks on time or communicate issues I problems with the appropriate person. • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and collaboration skills. • High level of professionalism, integrity, business conduct and ethical behavior. • Ability to follow LLGI policies and procedures. • CPR!First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment. • Must pass a government background check.

Responsibilities:

The Career Coach executes Career Center program initiatives by evaluating and enrolling participants, performing job search activities and assisting with individuals' career development needs. This position also successfully manages the Career Center programs, provides quality service, and contributes to the implementation and growth of new service models in addition to building community service relationships. Builds credibility, establishes rapport and maintains communication with community leaders and stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to Goodwill as well as LLLGI retail staff. • Cultivates relationships with community employers to identify potential employment for those seeking jobs. • Develops and maintains information about local employment to link clients with employment resources in the community. • Conducts intakes and provides direct services to clients seeking assistance in improving job skills or obtaining employment. • Evaluates and determines the client's qualifications for job placement. • Conducts assessments for clients to identify work values, abilities and interests needed for career development. • Creates individual career development plans for clients. • Assists clients in developing and implementing job search plans, navigating the internet to discover career options, and using online resources to improve job and life skills. • Collaborates and builds alignment with Retail Managers to ensure placement opportunities within LLGI. Conducts computer skills and career development training for employees and clients. • Assists clients in leveraging community resources to succeed in finding employment, continuing their education and/or acquiring new skills to manage life. • Coordinates appointments for clients to schedule one-on-one work at the Career Center. • Maintains records and reports statistical information of people served. • Provides initial intake and coordination of clients participating in community service hours at the store location. • Researches, plans and participates in networking and community outreach events to promote the program. • Monitors the functionality of computer equipment and coordinates technical assistance/support. • Participates in training and staff development activities to build and enhance skills in career development. • Travels to locations within the LLGI territory.
