Qualifications:

Verifiable documentation of education. Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences or related field that meets requirements for QIDP as defined by the Illinois Department of Human Services with one or more year’s experience programming for individuals who have developmental disabilities and other physical and mental challenges. Successful completion of the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) testing ability to read. Must meet the requirements of Direct Support Person (DSP). Able to successfully complete medication administration authorization. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Able to meet the physical requirements required of the position. This is a professional position which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to changing needs of the Residential Services program is required. Ability to interact and communicate with individuals served by our agency, employees, parents/guardians, State/Federal staff members, and other supervisory/management personnel. Able to meet the physical requirements required of the position including the ability to lift and assist with transfers. Successful completion of Essential Functioning Test verifying ability to lift at least seventy-five (75) pounds. May have flexible varied schedule with nights and/or weekends required.

Responsibilities:

Job Summary 

Provides support to the Community Living Services Director. Monitors programs, services, and activities for assigned individuals within a residential setting. Serves as lead Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) in the Residential Program. Is supervised and evaluated by the Community Living Services Director.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assumes the responsibilities outlined in Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) Job Description. Is familiar with all residential homes, current staff, individuals living in the homes, various schedules. Monitors Residential sites regularly. Reviews documents and provides signatures for Residential Developmental Instructors (DI’s) as directed by Community Living Services Director. Supervises Residential QIDP(s) for specific caseload/worksite(s). Is active in the development, skills and positive work performance of supervised staff. Supervises and evaluates staff performance for all QIDP’s and makes recommendations on staff changes, promotions, and terminations. Serves on Agency committees as requested by Community Living Services Director. Assists with the hiring process by interviewing prospective employees and evaluating their qualifications, in concert with the Community Living Services Director. Conducts training for new/existing staff. Works cooperatively with Residential Management employees to ensure adequate staff coverage at all locations. Assists with securing substitutes for vacancies in the schedule, upon request, while taking into consideration employment status, twenty-four (24) hours off in seven (7) day period requirement and overtime considerations. May serve as Community Living Services Director in his/her absence. Promotes teamwork and cooperation among supervised employees, peers, supervisors, and staff of other programs, along with being a mentor to Residential Management staff. Completes all annual training, QIDP, and Direct Support Person (DSP) requirements. Ensures that quality improvement efforts are integrated, coordinated and consistently meet established Residential Services standards and policies, including documentation of quarterly Quality Assurance Reviews. Prepares Quality Assurance reports for committees as requested by the Community Living Services Director. Completes annual Accessibility Surveys and prepares written status reports as requested. Directs Residential Managers/QIDP’s and Supervisors in the quarterly Residential Site Audit process and reviews plans of correction for each location as requested by the Community Living Services Director. Assists with and tracks individual permanent records to assure required documentation is completed, accurate and filed, as appropriate, for review. Assists with completion of said records as required by Community Living Services Director. Records include ICAP, SIB, Satisfaction Surveys (Individual and Stakeholder) and others deemed necessary by the Community Living Services Director. Coordinates emergency and safety drills and trainings with the Residential Supervisors to ensure regulatory and accreditation standards are met. Prepares reports for said drills and training as directed by the Community Living Services Director. Participates in On-Call Supervisor rotation by assisting in ensuring 24/7 coverage for the CILA homes following agency policies and procedures. Accurately monitors and approves QIDP time and mileage records, in conjunction with the Community Living Services Director. Attends Residential Management Meetings to record minutes and distribute as directed.
