POSITION SUMMARY
General Labor performs a variety of routine tasks in support of production. Primary function of this position includes material/product handling and providing production and quality assurance support. This position works collaboratively to achieve Nestlé business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, and environmental protection.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out various material and product handling activities; operate powered industrial trucks to move totes, material, and product as directed; hand package finished product into cases as needed; stack cases on pallets; hang powder storage bags; chip hardened power from storage totes; transfer animal feed from storage totes to bags; transfer bad powder to dumpsters. Compact and bale cardboard for recycling. Provide production support as authorized; relieve breaks in packaging areas; assist with production equipment operation if qualified and as directed. Support quality assurance activities; weigh ingredients for flavor blending; perform re-work activities (re-label containers, place missing codes on product packaging, secure loose product container caps, etc.). Read, understand, and comply with Nestlé Quality Monitoring Schemes (QMS). Continually monitor work area for hazardous or unsafe conditions; report safety hazards and issues to immediate supervisor or facility safety personnel. Contribute continuous improvement ideas and suggestions to improve operational efficiency, safety, and quality. Participate in company environmental continuous improvement initiatives by seeking out and employing increased resource efficiency opportunities; promote and participate in waste conservation/management efforts (pollution prevention and recycling). Perform other duties as assigned.
