The position of Hand Solder Technician requires fine hands to finger coordination. The position is responsible for
making precise welds to connect wires to printed circuit boards or other components. Since you solder together very small parts, the craft requires extreme precision. We use lead and non-lead solder. The position may also require use of hand tools to make repairs or operate and calibrate soldering machinery. Certification as an Assembly Technician A is required.

Assembly Technician A Certification
Basic computer skills
Basic reading skills/ability to follow directions
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
Ability to work overtime, if needed
Education and/or Experience
At least 6 months experience working with printed circuit boards preferred
Must complete and pass annual certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Performs various assembly processes companywide for the manufacturing of electronic printed circuit boards.
o Some of the tasks include:
Hand soldering with low residue flux
Lead free hand soldering
Through-hole component prep and hand soldering
Advanced hand soldering techniques
Rework and component removal
Terminal soldering
Hand soldering – SMT Component Installation
Maintenance on Soldering Iron
Other duties may be assigned
o Must have the ability to make fast, precise, repeated movements of the fingers, hands and wrists.
o Must be able to use a computer to access all the manufacturing instructions via the VKS system.
o Must have the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble very small objects.
o Must have the ability to see details at close range.
o Reporting of all deficient and unusable parts to a supervisor to maintain an accurate physical inventory.
o Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
o Be responsible for following works instructions to produce high quality products in a safe manner.
o Identify to a supervisor if there is a quality concern.
o Participate and complete company required training.
o Maintain a clean and organized work center.
o Performs other routine duties to meet company demands.
