Qualifications:

Position: Automated Solder Operator, 1st Shift
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm (Normal Hours)
WORKING 12 HOUR SHIFTS FOR THE NEXT 3-6 WEEKS.
Day Shift: 6:00am – 6:00pm.
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Summary Operates the Selective Solder and Wave equipment that automatically solders electronic components, such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, wires, integrated circuits, etc., into holes of printed circuit boards (PCBs) by performing the following duties.

 Basic computer skills
 Basic reading skills/ability to follow directions.
 Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
 Ability to work overtime if needed.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 Basic understanding of XYZ coordinates.
 Basic computer skills: using notepad and cut and paste commands.
 Must be able to use and download from a digital camera.
 Must be able to use a USB drive.
 Must write and maintain the Flux program and the Solder program.
 Must be able to type computer commands to enter program that directs machine to solder components in specified sequence and location on PCBs.
 Observe and maintain solder pot.
 Load and unload PCB’s into machine, start machine, and monitors machine operation.
 Load and unload pallets as necessary.
 Understand and identify quality defects, confirm the quality of the product entering the Selective Solder or Wave equipment and inform the slide line staff of needed corrections.
 Removes assembled PCBs from machine bed and inspects PCBs for defects, such as missing components incomplete insertion and soldering defects.
 Adjusts machine if needed to eliminate quality deficiencies.
 Inserts missing components or routes defective boards to repair department.
 Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and make machine adjustments as needed.
 Stops machine and notifies supervisor of machine malfunctions.
 Ensures the correct solder pot or correct machine is being used for lead vs. lead free product.
 Records production information such as production levels, machine downtime, and defects.
 Reporting of all scrap and unusable parts to maintain an accurate physical inventory.
 Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
 Preforms all daily maintenance of equipment to include solder pot’s, and flux applicators.
 Trains other employees on equipment as necessary.
 Identifies issues and presents options to increase productivity including the development of pallets or fixtures.
 Performs other routine duties.

Other Information:

Education and Training
 Preferred to have a minimum of 3 months experience working with Electronic Components.
 Must complete and pass IPC Qualified Electronics Assembler Certification within 6 months of CCK Employment and maintain certification every 2 years.
