Since 1875 Passavant Area Hospital has maintained its excellence as a community hospital for the residents of Morgan, Scott, Cass, Greene and Macoupin counties. Its total healthcare campus in Jacksonville includes a fully-accredited hospital, education complex, physicians' offices, an emergency department with a Level II Trauma Center, outpatient and Fast Track clinic, Transitional Care Unit, convenient visitor and patient parking areas, and a heliport for emergency air rescue.

The 97-bed hospital staffs more than 600 employees, is accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is a member of the Illinois Hospital Association, the American Hospital Association and the Voluntary Hospitals of America.

Passavant Area Hospital has added a state-of-the-art M.R.I.. (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) System to its Imaging Department in a new building added adjacent to the department. The Rehabilitation Services building attached to the back of the hospital houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, a Wound Center and orthopedic surgeons. Through a joint partnership with Memorial Medical Center of Springfield, Passavant Area Hospital's Memorial Industrial Rehabilitation provides a one-stop shop for comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment of the injured worker in Jacksonville.
